Our team is pleased to have supported the delivery of Wellingborough School’s new technology and science centre – the Gateway Building.

The Gateway Building forms part of the 400-year-old school’s modernisation plans to future-proof its learning environments, expanding and improving its design, technology and science facilities to enhance student experience. As well as making a visually impressive addition to the campus, the new three-storey landmark building is home to state-of-the-art studios, workshops and ICT suites.

A collaborative approach for a top-class result

Led by Harman Singh Barech, with support from Josh Menck and Mike Gallucci, our team provided employer’s agent, quantity surveying and clerk of works services for the £14m development, advising on commercial management, contract administration, quality monitoring and project assurance matters.

Working closely with the wider project team, our specialists balanced stakeholder requirements and the challenges of operating within a live educational environment while maintaining focus on quality, cost and programme objectives. This collaborative approach helped achieve the school’s vision and successfully deliver a high-quality facility.

It’s been a real joy to work with Gateley Built Environment on our new Gateway Building. They have been a calm and consistent voice when things have been challenging on site, guiding us through a long and complicated build. Nothing has been too much trouble, and they’ve been extremely professional, accommodating and approachable throughout. We will definitely be working with the consultancy again on future projects.

Harman Singh Barech, technical director at Gateley Built Environment, commented: “It was a real pleasure to be part of the working collaborative involved in this milestone project for Wellingborough School. The new Gateway Building reinforces the school’s commitment to enhancing its facilities, and it’s fantastic to see the positive impact it is already having on students and teaching staff. A big congratulations to everyone involved in this brilliant project.”
